Idaho entrepreneur wins award and capital backing for inventing a device device that connects spliced electrical wires and heavy-duty cables

It’s called the Melni http://www.melni.org/ “Quick Grip” Connector http://melni.org/melni_press_releases.pdf , a small device that connects spliced electrical wires and heavy-duty cables, and it’s something that Melni says will revolutionize the way electricians and utility workers connect wires.

“I got the idea after watching an elderly friend of mine splicing wires,” Melni said. “By the time he was done, his hands and wrists were sore from having to crimp the wires together.”

On May 19, Melni won the prestigious Idaho TechLaunch competition http://www.idahotechconnect.com/raising_capital/techlaunch/ , which is judged by the state’s leading investors and innovators, and includes $10,000 in capital to expedite the invention’s entrance into the market place.
