New high-speed network to benefit researchers at University of Montana, elsewhere

Montana, along with a dozen other northern states, celebrated Thursday a new high-speed network connection that stretches 700 miles from Seattle to Chicago and that aims to improve educational and research opportunities in these areas.

"What people have in their home is one megabyte," he said. "This is 10,000 megabytes. It’s 10,000 times faster."
