Educators can now apply for their new Montana Educator license online without standing in line or even leaving home.

“Immediacy and efficiency needs to be at the forefront of all our work– especially when resources are tight, said Denise Juneau, Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction. “We are committed to constant innovation in order to ensure that all students meet today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities. So, it was only natural that we advance our own technology to keep pace with our high-quality material resources and school support."

The Educator Licensing service is now available at [ https://app.mt.gov/educator ]https://app.mt.gov/educator. The new service provides educators with instant access to apply for their Class 1, 2 and 3 licensure and pay the required fees.

Prior to the online service, licenses could be renewed online, but applications for new licenses were mailed and hand entered into the database. The new service verifies the information as it is being entered, allowing for more accurate applications. In addition, the service offers an Educator Calculator to help educators determine the class of license for which they should apply. The new online service is easy to use and provides a more efficient application process for both the applicant and the Office of Public Instruction.

The Educator Licensing service is the result of a partnership between state government and the private sector. The systems were cooperatively developed and are supported by the Montana Office of Public Instruction, the Montana Department of Administration’s Information Technology Services Division, and Montana Interactive LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of eGovernment provider NIC, Inc. (Nasdaq:EGOV).
