Solar-powered streetlights will serve as laboratory for Boise State students

The Boise-based Inovus Solar http://www.inovussolar.com/ will install two solar-powered lights by May 28 to test its latest outdoor lighting on the campus of Boise State University.

Students at Boise State will use the light poles as part of their coursework in engineering, microelectronics, renewable energy and other areas.

“This installation illustrates Boise State’s commitment to advancing science into innovations and products,” said Clay Young, a Boise State alumnus who co-founded Inovus Solar and serves as its chief executive officer.

“Boise State and the Office of Technology Transfer http://www.boisestate.edu/research/tech/ are dedicated to increasing industry collaboration in order to create jobs and support research and innovation, which are the foundations of long-term economic prosperity.”
