Big Sky Economic Development Hires Community Development Specialist, Sara Hudson

Big Sky Economic Development http://www.bigskyeda-edc.org announced today it has hired Sara
Hudson to the position of Community Development Specialist.
Hudson is a Rocky Mountain College graduate and brings experience and skills in proposal
writing, project management, strategic planning and fund development. Hudson worked for the City of
Dallas where she was responsible for securing outside funding for that city’s activities, programs and
services. She then later worked for the University of Texas-Arlington, and while there, obtained a Masters
Degree in Public Administration.

In her position at Big Sky Economic Development, Hudson will work closely within the Community
Development team to secure funding on behalf of county agencies and other nonprofit organizations,
administer grants and facilitate certain projects that result from BSED’s efforts.

Hudson has served on the Advisory Council for the State of Montana’s Department of Health &
Human Services and for Yellowstone County’s Council on Welfare Reform.

She will begin her work at Big Sky Economic Development on June 1.

Big Sky Economic Development is a public-private partnership. The Big Sky Economic
Development Authority (EDA), the public agency, evolved from the Montana TradePort Authority,
launched in 1989, by the Yellowstone County Board of Commissioners and is tasked with the facilitating
the development of business that supports our community and quality of life.

Big Sky Economic
Development Corporation (EDC), the private business side, was started in 2002. The EDC’s mission is to
recruit primary sector businesses and retain and expand existing Yellowstone County business that
supports our community and quality of life. Over 100 of the county’s top businesses are member-investor
partners in the EDC involved in recruitment, retention, legislative issues and finance. For more
