Conference looks at who’s visiting Montana

Just who’s stopping by Montana and what’s changed was one topic addressed at the Governor’s conference on tourism in Kalispell on Friday morning.

Researcher Kara Grau from the Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research gave local tourism business owners insight into a survey conducted in 2009.

The survey broke down the details of vacationers who come to Montana each year and found that California and Washington had the highest number of visitors, and that the number one attraction was Yellowstone National Park.

The survey also found vacationers thought Montana takes good care of it’s wildlife and open spaces.
