Brown University using new technologies to create jobs

Brown University continues recalibrating its entrepreneurial engine with one of its newest staff members, Katherine Gordon, helping researchers at the East Side institution find financial fuel for their efforts.

Gordon came from Harvard University to head up Brown’s reformulated approach to bringing research results into the marketplace as the Ivy League school gets involved in job creation in Rhode Island. In 2009, the university joined with other Rhode Island groups to help launch the R.I. Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, where academic researchers are trained in market research and business planning.
