NorthWestern Energy offers cash for carbon

Northwestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com is offering what could be tens of thousands of dollars in free money – all you have to do is capture carbon or prevent its escape.

The money is made available to municipalities statewide through an agreement which allowed the construction of the Mill Creek power generating station near Anaconda.

The competitive program requires no local matching funds and is awarded annually. The amount this year could be $250,000 or more, said John Fitzpatrick, director of governmental affairs for Northwestern.
