City Club Missoula – Missoula youth advocate, Layci Nelson of the Missoula Forum for Children and Youth says parents, kids need to be media literate

"Everyone has heard about predators on the Internet," Nelson said. "But sometimes it’s not the traditional way we think about it. Sometimes the predators are the advertisers."

So the kids are whiling away the evening chatting on Facebook, responding to incessant text messages and perhaps even watching television.

You’re sitting there knowing something is wrong with the picture and wondering what happened to your children.

Plenty, Layci Nelson of the Missoula Forum for Children and Youth told a lunchtime gathering of City Club Missoula http://cityclubmissoula.org/ on Monday.

And it may be worse than you think.
