Montana Senator Jon Tester – A recap of my 1,500-mile road trip

Congress was out of session President’s Day week. Some people call it a break. For me, it was no break. We have too much work to do. I used it as a chance to hit the road, driving more than 1,500 miles to visit with folks about the number one issue facing our state and our nation: Jobs.

Last week — and during a similar jobs tour last November — I heard four common themes to rebuild our economy by creating and saving jobs. These are principles I’ll turn to in the weeks and months ahead:

1. Standing up for Montana’s small businesses.

2. Expanding Montana’s potential for energy development.

3. Improving access to capital, so Montana businesses can put more folks to work.

4. Growing Montana’s manufacturing industry.

These are ideas that I’m taking back to the Senate with me as I continue fighting to create jobs for Montana.

Here’s a recap from the week . . . http://tester.enews.senate.gov/mail/util.cfm?gpiv=2100054579.83464.763&gen=1
