Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau Announces Office of Public Instruction New Web 2.0 Tools, New Web site

Latest Tools Include Facebook, Wikis, Blogs
Today Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau announced the launch of new Web 2.0 tools to add to the new agency Web site. The new Web 2.0 tools include Facebook, wikis, and blogs on the new Office of Public Instruction Web site.

“Immediacy and efficiency needs to be forefront of all our communication strategies,” Juneau said. “Especially when resources are tight.”

According to a recent Gallup Poll, Americans’ frequent use of the Internet has almost doubled during the last five years. A 2009 report by the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that one in five Internet users engaged in civic activity on a social network.

"We are committed to constant innovation in order to be able to use the leading technology to provide the vision, advocacy, support and leadership for schools and communities to ensure that all students meet today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities," said Juneau. "So, it was only natural that we advance our own technology to keep pace with our high-quality material resources and school support."

The upgraded and updated version of the new Web site is the result of a year of analysis, design, and programming. The agency will announce further advances in its efficiency and technological communications in the coming weeks.
