Missoula BarCamp 2010 Session Suggestions – Planning meeting on 2/23

Missoula BarCamp is a self-organizing conference. By the rules of Open Space Technology and BarCamp, sessions may not be posted or scheduled before the event. These are only suggestions of topics we might want to present or want to hear presented. These suggestions have no authority to set the agenda, as the agenda and session topics and times will be set at the beginning of the event by the people who show up.

Missoula BarCamp – Co-Conspirator Meeting

Thanks for all the help we’ve received for this year’s BarCamp in Missoula so far, and for your help for the first two in ’08 and ’09. You all helped set up, helped organize, convened sessions, and supported and encouraged the event. Thank you!

It looks like we’ve got a good head start on things. Missoula BarCamp is looking to make a difference in Missoula for technologists, artists, and non-profits.

Will you come help us get the show on the road this Tuesday for the first co-conspirator meeting?

Here’s some of what we’ll look at addressing.

– Location update – We should know whether we can use the Gallagher Building at the UM by the time of this meeting.

– Date update – It looks like May 1st. That should be finalized by next Tuesday as well.

– Budget – look at the spreadsheet of costs and income based on 50-100 attendees.

– Schedule – Hopefully we can extend it this year to a full day – 9-5 or 5:30.

– A Warmup Speaker – Maybe we’ll be able to afford an honorarium for someone from the Biomimicry Institute – other ideas?

– Spreading the word – Inviting artists, designers, local businesses, as well as technologists

– Taking advantage of social media and our networks

– Finding potential sponsors

– Progress on the Drupal website – can we do our own event management and skip using Eventbright.com this year?

– Logo & Poster design
