American Prairie Foundation Newsletter – Public Campground to Open on Reserve

Dear Friends of American Prairie Reserve,

As 2010 gets underway, I would like to thank our expanding group of supporters whose continued contributions are ensuring the success of this project. The proceeds from our 2009 end-of-year appeal exceeded that of any previous year. After seventy days of filming, National Geographic has finished production on the film American Serengeti that is scheduled to run worldwide in April.

The APR’s first public campground, designed by Lewistown architect Jeff Shelden, is scheduled to be open by midsummer 2010. The publication on Conservation Economics, written by our colleagues at WWF Northern Great Plains, is a well-written synopsis of the challenges facing rural America and offers thought-provoking and optimistic suggestions. Thank you again for your help and please join us as we look forward to an exciting new year on the prairie.

Sincerely,

Sean Gerrity
APF President
