Missoula business looks for strategies to cut airfares; Syracuse, N.Y., provides one answer

Fighting for the survival of his Missoula-based production company, John Barrett is taking on Goliath.
Barrett, whose 40 employees regularly fly around the country to get video footage and compelling stories for sporting life media giant InterMedia Outdoors, is trying to negotiate with Missoula’s airline carriers for lower airfares.
The company currently spends about $650,000 on airline tickets, and if lower airfare isn’t successfully negotiated, a hoped-for company expansion won’t happen, Barrett has said.
