January 13, 2010 /
The Schweitzer http://governor.mt.gov/ administration has canceled the controversial pay raises awarded to 14 employees in the governor’s budget office at a time when most other state workers are facing pay freezes.
These pay hikes, totaling nearly $48,000 a year, took effect Nov. 2 and will end Friday, the start of a new state government pay period.
"These are tougher times," Gov. Brian Schweitzer said Tuesday. "We’re going to ask you to do more and pay you the same."
