‘Graduation Matters Missoula’ Campaign Launches Tuesday, Jan. 19

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

A news conference and rally on Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. will formally launch “Graduation Matters Missoula,” a community-wide effort to improve the high-school graduation rate.

The event will be held in the 3rd Floor Atrium of the Phyllis J. Washington Education Center on the campus of the University of Montana.

Missoula County Public Schools has been working with community leaders from a wide variety of local organizations to develop a lasting campaign to encourage students to stay in school through graduation. Graduation Matters Missoula is being developed by volunteer teams comprising school district personnel, including administrators, teachers and principals; parents, students, the business community, nonprofit partners, the University of Montana, The Rotary Club of Missoula, and the faith community.
