Montana Governor Schweitzer asks Bozeman to rethink stimulus spending

Bozeman City Commissioners stuck to their plan to spend federal stimulus money on replacing the tennis courts at Bogert Park and criticized Gov. Brian Schweitzer http://governor.mt.gov/ for debating the issue in the national media rather than first coming to them.

Schweitzer flew to Bozeman Monday to speak to the City Commission during its regular meeting Monday night. He asked commissioners to spend the $50,000 in stimulus money they had allocated for tennis courts on improving area roads, the wastewater treatment plant or energy efficiency in buildings instead.
