Region set to launch ‘venture catalyst’ program

The Venture Catalyst program will focus specifically on helping early stage technology-based companies, the renewable energy industry and the aviation/aerospace sector.

Concluding a six-week search, Economic Development for Central Oregon http://www.edcoinfo.com/ announced Monday that Scott Larson of Seattle has been selected by a six-person hiring team to launch the new Venture Catalyst program for the tri-county area.

The Venture Catalyst program was proposed more than three years ago and championed by Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore. This spring, the concept won a congressional earmark grant to support the program for the next three years.
