Idaho National Laboratory featured in video presented at Copenhagen conference

Idaho National Laboratory http://www.inl.gov footage and research are featured in a video presented at the World Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen today. President Obama introduced the video, which is titled "America’s Response to Climate Change" and discusses how varied energy technologies can combat climate change.

In October, the Department of Energy’s Public Affairs office asked the national laboratories to suggest ideas about topics and footage that could be included in the video. INL suggested a segment about next-generation nuclear energy. A subcontract team from the U.S. Department of State visited Idaho Falls in early November to film the video clip and interview INL Fellow Dave Petti, director of INL’s Very High Temperature Reactor Technology Development Office.

The Idaho Falls footage can be seen briefly in the first 90 seconds of the video, and the nuclear energy segment featuring Petti starts around 10:35. The entire video is more than 17 minutes long and discusses a variety of energy research projects occurring throughout the country and at INL.
