Hawthorne Elementary School of Missoula, Montana earns national award for its Title 1 program

Hawthorne Elementary School http://www.mcps.k12.mt.us/portal/Default.aspx?alias=www.mcps.k12.mt.us/portal/hawthorne has been recognized nationally for the quality of its Title 1 program.

But the national Distinguished School award comes as no real surprise to principal Steve McHugh.

"Our test scores have been quite high for a long time, and our reduced-lunch kids are almost as high as other kids," said McHugh.
