Program pairs Montana students, professionals

Rebecca Cloutier, junior at Great Falls High School, has worn glasses most her life and therefore has had plenty of visits to the eye doctor.

Each time she’s gone, she’s been intrigued by what her optometrist does and thinks she might want to be an eye doctor.

Last week she got to learn more about the profession when she shadowed optometrist Gerald Meguire as part of the Great Falls Public Schools job shadow program.

For the past four years all the juniors in the district have had a chance to observe someone in a profession they’re interested in pursuing.
