Rocky Mountain Log Homes awaits loan

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

In August, a Rocky Mountain Log Homes http://www.rmlh.com/ official said the company was in tough financial straits and needed $2 million in government stimulus loans to help keep its doors open.

But less than half of Rocky Mountain’s loan requests have been approved and chances are dwindling that any more money will come because the loan coffers are nearly depleted.

It’s not clear what impact the funding situation will have on Rocky Mountain, a leader in Montana’s once-thriving log home industry.
