US Secretary of Commerce Announces New Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The launch of our new Entrepreneurs’ Movement coincides with a tremendous advance at the Federal level, with the Department of Commerce this week creating a dedicated Office for Entrepreneurship and Innovation geared towards helping transform ideas into companies.

We already know that most new jobs evolve from new businesses. Now we’re very encouraged to see the new administration taking this leadership role in helping entrepreneurs get the training, credit and access to research they need in their quest to create new businesses and grow the economy.

Commerce Secretary Gary Locke says the new office "will be geared toward the first step in the business cycle: moving an idea from somebody’s imagination or from a research lab into a business plan." We at Kauffman look forward to providing whatever assistance and support Secretary Locke and his colleagues need to make this important endeavor a shining success.
