Montana Matters to singers: Wildlife to benefit from CD, acoustic concert and more

If you want to reach hearts and minds in Montana, you’re going to need a songwriter.

The folks behind Montana Matters http://www.montanamatters.com/1 , a fresh wildlife and conservation campaign, knew it right from the start.

"Good music. Ballad-style music. That’s kind of the way Montana is," said Craig Sharpe, executive director of the Montana Wildlife Federation http://www.montanawildlife.com/, one of two nonprofits behind the national campaign.

It was last spring that the MWF first started looking for new partners in a creative campaign to bolster wildlife conservation in Montana – and to find successful ways to raise funds.

And the MWF found a friend in Missoula’s International Wildlife Media Center & Film Festival http://www.wildlifefilms.org/ , which leapt like a lynx aboard the effort.

"I think this campaign is trying to epitomize what Montana is all about around the world," said IWFF executive director Janet Rose.
