Search for volunteer opportunities on Serve.gov

On September 11, President Obama encouraged citizens to volunteer their time and efforts to commemorate the first official September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.

But volunteering doesn’t have to stop at just one day.

One way people find volunteer opportunities is through a new website, http://www.Serve.gov, which aims to match up volunteers and nonprofit organizations. The website, launched in June by the Corporation for National and Community Service, lists around 250,000 volunteer opportunities, which are searchable by one’s interest and location.
