McLaughlin plans to apply for Montana biomedical research money

The McLaughlin Research Institute http://www.montana.edu/mri/ in Great Falls plans to apply for a portion of the $2.5 million in grant funding http://matr.net/article-35643.html available through the Montana Department of Commerce for Montana-based, private, nonprofit research institutions involved in biomedical research.

McLaughlin’s board of directors and Fund Drive Committee will meet to decide how much to ask for, said Dave Crum, McLaughlin spokesman.

"It’ll be a significant portion of (the $2.5 million)," he said.

The available grant funds can be used to expand, renovate and purchase equipment for biomedical research, and to expand infrastructure that will enhance the scientific collaborations between independent nonprofit researchers and researchers in the Montana University System, according to a Department of Commerce press release http://matr.net/article-35643.html .
