Cody, Wyoming tries to tempt tech company, Eleutian Technology, to set up shop

Cody is making a push to land the headquarters of a growing company that provides English language instruction to students in Asia using Internet video conferencing.

James Klessens of Forward Cody said the economic development group is trying to bring Eleutian Technology http://www.eleutian.com/ to town.

Eleutian is now based in Ten Sleep. The company has satellite offices in Powell and Cody, among other Wyoming locations.

As its business has grown, Eleutian has looked to expand its corporate headquarters. The company is seeking a $3 million grant from the Wyoming Business Council to build a new 10,000-square-foot office building and teaching center.

Company representatives repeatedly have said they would prefer to stay in Ten Sleep, but some members of the 315-member community have expressed concerns about the impact of new development, and the town of Ten Sleep opted not to sponsor Eleutian’s grant application.
