President Obama announced Wednesday a $2.4 billion infusion of stimulus funds to 25 states, including Indiana, to manufacture batteries and electric vehicles.

As he began speaking just before noon at an RV plant in Wakarusa, Ind., Obama told the crowd, "You’re living every day with the consequences of this recession and the financial meltdown."

The funds will be matched by $2.4 billion in investments from the companies who win those federal grants.
