Entrepreneurship or Formal Education?

An MBA has a few uses but I strongly believe the value of such a degree is going down every year.

Recently a colleague asked me if I thought that getting an MBA was a good idea. The obvious come-back question I had was "relative to what?" You can only assess an opportunity relative to an alternative i.e. what’s the opportunity cost? In this case, the alternative was starting a company. The obvious come back answer was "start a company."
