New Stinger Welding factory in Libby, Montana will net 200 jobs

With the help of the state of Montana, a bridge-builder from the desert of Arizona has given Libby http://libbymt.com/ something to cheer about.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer on Monday announced that more than $5.7 million in Montana Department of Commerce funds will help Stinger Welding http://www.deckjoint.com/ of Coolidge, Ariz., open a new construction facility at the Kootenai Business Park Industrial District.

With it, officials say, will come more than 200 good-paying jobs with health and vacation benefits in a county with a 12.9 percent unemployment rate.

“It’s huge,” said Paul Rumelhart, executive director of the Kootenai River Development Council. “It’s a complete change from Libby’s historic past.”
