A Bitterroot Valley log home builder submitted an application on Friday for $1 million from a new federal and state low-interest loan program using federal stimulus funds.
Neville Log Homes http://www.nevilog.com/ near Victor plans to use the money to retain or hire about 50 workers over the next two years.
Demand for timber has fallen sharply nationwide because of the mortgage and credit crisis and a slowdown in new home construction.
