Kalispell, Montana’s Semitool Inc. Teams With Zinc Air to Develop Flow Batteries

Semitool, Inc. http://www.semitool.com/ , a global leader in electrochemical processing technology for the semiconductor and related industries, today announced it has engaged with Zinc Air, Inc. to pursue development of a suite of energy storage products based upon Electrochemical Flow Batteries, also called Redox Cells. Flow batteries are considered critical elements in the expansion and large-scale adoption of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.

Kevin Witt, Semitool’s director of Disruptive Technology, said, "The technology behind flow batteries is a natural extension of Semitool’s core competency in electrochemical processing and plating technology.
