The Young Entrepreneur Programs – Warren Miller Freedom Foundation

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to share the Warren Miller Freedom Foundation’s http://www.warrenmiller.org successes in teaching nearly 1,600 young people the principles of entrepreneurship. Our program has grown considerably, solely by favorable word of mouth communication, without any advertising! The past months have brought many new and exciting developments to the Foundation.

The Young Entrepreneur Programs have grown to numerous sites in Washington, Montana, and Colorado, with pilot programs to start in Michigan, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and California!

Our students have started businesses ranging from babysitting, car washing and baked goods, to car repair, jewelry, and academic, sport, and instrument instruction! We will also soon be implementing an entrepreneurial curriculum for adults. This program will enable people to expand their opportunities and ‘re-invent’ themselves in these current economic times. We are fortunate to have several organizations seeking to offer the adult program in the coming months.

The Foundation recently seated its first, National Board of Directors: Brad Brotherton, Nancy Domaille, Kemper Freeman, Grant Hosford, Colin Kaufmann, Robert Marcovitch, and Scott Smith. In its inaugural meeting, the Board made some vital decisions which will enable the Foundation’s future evolution and substantial growth.

We are also currently transitioning from our status as a ‘private’ non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation to a ‘public’ non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation, allowing us the opportunity to apply for and accept grants. We had budgeted the remainder of our funds for this process, however it has taken longer and been more costly than expected.

We have completed the most challenging part of developing the program, as well as considerably reduced our delivery expenses, but as the programs rapidly expand, so will our production expenses. We have set a fundraising goal of $50,000 to allow us to continue through this important process.

Would you please help us through this short, reorganizing period with your tax deductible donation, reinforcing your belief in the benefit of the Foundation’s teachings?

In addition to monetary support, advocates of the Foundation can also help with networking and the expansion of our program for their local young people. As previously stated, we don’t spend any donated money on advertising. For that reason, word of mouth has become our only vehicle for expansion. Please contact us about helping expand the Warren Miller Freedom Foundation into your area!

Thank you in advance! You are appreciated by us and by the many people whose lives will be empowered by taking part in our programs’ workshops.

Sincerely,

Laurie Miller, Chairman

“The business I created was my own dog walking, washing, and pet grooming service… I love dogs and felt it would be an easy way to make money… and I noticed that people in my neighborhood are dog owners and would require my services…

I got a chance to be my own boss… I learned how to expand my business with added bonuses like “doggie day” and branching out of my neighborhood. I learned how to handle my money and save it.”
