Telemetric Corp. http://www.telemetric.net/ , a Boise technology company that provides distribution automation technology to utilities, has a new owner. Sensus, of Raleigh, N.C., has acquired Telemetric’s assets and business.
Sensus http://www.sensus.com/ is active in demand response and home automation. Acquiring Telemetric gives Sensus “a significant and established presence in the distribution automation portion of the utility landscape,” Sensus said in a release. Telemetric will integrate Sensus smart-grid communication technology and extend Sensus’ reach and solutions to all parts of the smart grid.
“This acquisition brings with it a team of talented and dedicated employees, a broad proven product and software offering, and many strong customer and business relationships,” Sensus CEO and President Peter Mainz said. “Integration of Telemetric’s assets and engineering capability into Sensus brings a key solution set that electric utilities want from their Smart Grid applications, distribution automation and asset-management solutions.”
