Idaho’s Governor Otter touts Project 60 … plan to boost Idaho’s economy to $60 billion, an 18 percent increase

Sixty billion.

Undaunted by America’s economic pitfall, Gov. Butch Otter sees Idaho as a land of opportunity, even putting a number on how much more the state can produce.

He calls it Project 60 — a development plan geared at boosting Idaho’s economy to $60 billion, an 18 percent increase — by using a whole new set of high-tech ideas.

"The beginning of a new age doesn’t necessarily take away all the tradition and discipline that we shared and enjoyed in years past," Otter said Tuesday, outlining his plan to Idaho’s Association of Commerce and Industry at The Coeur d’Alene Resort. "It just means it’s our generation’s turn to make a difference."
