Business owners frustrated with Sanders County Community Development Corp.

Maria Morton on Tuesday called her dealings with the private, nonprofit Sanders County Community Development Corp. http://www.co.sanders.mt.us/sccdc/sccdc_page2.html , “the worst experience of my life. I would not wish it on my worst enemy.”

The co-owner of Mountain Machines Performance, a Thompson Falls company that manufactures high- performance after-market parts for snowmobiles, Morton said her company’s seven employees have all been laid off because of the mess – even as Mountain Machines has $80,000 in pre-orders from distributors and opportunities to diversify.

Instead, she said, the company doesn’t have the money to purchase the metal it needs to manufacture the parts.

“We’ve got nothing to do but go under,” Morton said.
