Tweeting for profit. Smart entrepreneurs are now doing deals in 140 characters or less on Twitter.

With marketing budgets squeezed by the recession, more entrepreneurs are finding new ways to boost their business with Twitter. Fliqz, a video storage site, racked up 1,358 followers in a matter of months, helping to generate 21 new sales leads and at least one contract worth $6,000. Vice President Kris Drey says those numbers might not be huge, but the cash investment is zero. "The only overhead is your time. You need to pay attention," he says.
