Open spaces, internal conflicts: Wyoming values center on ag land

"Are we going to act, or let things happen to us by default?" Gov. Freudenthal asked participants in the second annual "Building the Wyoming We Want: Values and Vision" conference at the Gertrude Krampert Theatre at Casper College.

We want it all: open spaces, our own Wyoming land, good jobs, public wealth, wildlife, hunting, fishing, clean water and land, and the all-encompassing "quality of life."

But without planning for change and growth, especially for agricultural lands, we might lose a lot of it, Gov. Dave Freudenthal said Tuesday.
