TechCrunch, Founders fund award 22 entrepreneurs $50K each

TechCrunch http://www.techcrunch.com/ and the Founders Fund http://www.foundersfund.com/ teamed up to give 22 entrepreneurs $50,000 each to fund early stage ideas at the 2009 TechFellow Awards held at the California Academy of Sciences.

The awardees get $25,000 from the TechFellow Awards program, and the Founders Fund matches that investment, and also gets the right to invest $250,000 when the companies are looking for their first round of venture funding. TechCrunch doesn’t take a financial stake in the companies.

The recipients were divided into four groups: Disruptive Innovation, Engineering Leadership, Product Design and Marketing, and General Management:
