Ed Olson and Jeanine Haugan-Olson bring their Silicon Valley GPS expertise to Red Lodge, Montana to form SiliconSky GPS

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

There’s no sign on the storefront of SiliconSky GPS http://www.siliconskygps.com/ , which somehow seems fitting for a company that specializes in systems that pinpoint location.

"I have no local business," explains Ed Olson, managing partner in the company. "All of my clients are out of state."

Situated directly across the street from the Blue Ribbon Bar in Red Lodge, the sparsely furnished company headquarters serves as the breeding ground for innovation. It’s there that the Montana State University-trained electrical engineer devises and refines GPS receivers and related hardware for a peculiar mix of applications.
