June 5, 2009View for printing

The Centers of Excellence (COE) Fiscal Year 2009-2010 solicitation period is now open. Entrepreneurs and existing companies can take advantage of this long-standing economic development program run by the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED).

The COE Program ... guidelines/ is a state-funded grant program developed by the Utah Legislature in 1986 to accelerate university-developed cutting-edge technologies out of the lab and into the market.

"The purpose of the Centers of Excellence Program is to drive commercialization of promising technologies that have strategic value for Utah, and thereby boost economic development and create jobs," said Nicole Toomey Davis, Director, COE, GOED. "We look for companies large and small to newly license and take to market a Utah college or university-developed technology."
