Economic Gardening International Conference – June 17 – 19 in South Dakota

For those of you who have made past conferences, you know that we don’t
meet in big hotels in big cities. Our world is about real places doing
real things. We have met on the plaza in Santa Fe, in a winery in the
gold rush country of California, in the converted industrial buildings
in Fairfield, Iowa, in a hunting lodge in southern Georgia and on a
ranch in Steamboat Springs.

Our groups are intimate and participants get to know each other quickly
and develop lifelong friendships and business relationships. We learn
as much from each other on the breaks and in the evenings as we do in
the sessions.

Registration is now up to 50. We are looking forward to the exchange of
gifts between the Australian aboriginals and the Sioux tribes of the
Dakotas. If you like local color, the evening at Prairie Skies Ranch
and our visit to the Hutterite colony will be memorable. The prairies
are green and the weather should be in the high 70’s.

Our little band of believers who support entrepreneurs is changing the
way economic development is done. In 50 years, they will look at the
old photographs of these small gatherings around the country and marvel
at the vision and foresight.

There is nothing like a face to face conversation about something
we’re passionate about. That is the most compelling thing about any
conference really. Those of you who have attended past Economic
Development Gardening conferences know the benefits of information
exchange and strengthened connections.

I am from South Dakota – I understand that there may be practical
challenges to travelling here. But, heck if a gentleman from Japan can
make it to Sisseton SD – so can you. And I guarentee it will be more
than worth it. Besides the networking and learning you will enjoy a
fabulously diverse cultural experience and the prairie is beautiful
beyond words.
