Entrepreneurs: Farmer takes advantage of Red Lodge, Montana relocation. The Lavender Bundle

Like a lot of small farmers, Ann Sly had to work a second "real job" to keep up with her mortgage and her bills.

The irony was that even in the years when the crops on her Washington farm were abundant, she had little time to sell her products because of the demands of that "real job."

So, she started figuring out ways to maker her crops worth more, especially her fields of lavender, which was well-suited to her farm on the Olympic Peninsula.

Then, just as her farm business was beginning to thrive, came another curveball. In 2007, the Montana native had to relocate to the Red Lodge area to care for a family member.
