Washington State University, University of Arizona and other Universities to Partner with The University Funds to Speed Commercialization of Research-Based Innovations

The Washington State University Research Foundation and The University Funds http://www.theufunds.com/ , a venture capital fund and business accelerator, announced Thursday (April 30) that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the creation of new ventures based upon research at WSU.

The primary purpose of the collaboration is to accelerate successful commercialization of intellectual property developed at WSU with The University Funds using its venture capital model in tandem with its business launch process.

UA in tech-transfer deal

The University of Arizona Office of Technology Transfer announced Tuesday that it signed a memorandum of understanding with The University Funds — a Washington-state-based venture-development firm — to help start new companies based on UA research.

The agreement’s main goal is to commercialize select intellectual property from the UA using The University Funds’ venture-capital and business-launch process, the UA said.
