Art Bikes With Bite – The Montana Transit Authority

A one-man art bike building powerhouse known as the Montana Transit Authority http://mta.tumblr.com/ is distracting pedestrians and stopping traffic with custom-built two- and three-wheelers we can only describe as extraordinary.

Neal Fagen, a Montana transplant working in the cycling mecca of Portland, Oregon, is responsible for the Montana Transit Authority’s creations. He started making bikes about two years ago when “I was designing a lot a wind and water powered kinetic sculptures and they ended up getting a little beyond me,” he told us. “Through a conversation with a friend of mine the idea of building my version of a bike came up and I ran with it.”
