Wyoming virtual school to open
April 2, 2009 /
The tiny school district in Niobrara County plans to launch a virtual school, the state’s first for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
The Wyoming Virtual Academy will be open to students statewide. The school will serve in part as an alternative school for high schoolers who have difficulty in a traditional school environment, said Rick Luchsinger, Niobrara County School District superintendent.
The school also will target other types of nontraditional students, including home-schoolers and students whose parents relocate often for their jobs.
