Bitterroot Resort: Since fall, 3 liens placed on land

Tom Maclay and his Bitterroot Resort http://www.skibitterrootresort.com/ have sold several pieces of land and had three liens placed on the property since last fall, according to court records in Ravalli and Missoula counties.

The liens involve a Hamilton marketing firm and a Missoula engineering company that accuse Maclay of failing to pay more than $85,000 for their professional services.

It wasn’t clear what impact, if any, the legal troubles and land sales may have on Maclay’s proposed upscale resort, which – as proposed – would include skiing and mountain biking on public land and a private residential and golf course community with up to 2,700 houses.
