Hard work, taking risks keys to being successful in business

Missoula technology entrepreneur Alex Philp doesn’t believe in coincidences.

Good things happen because whatever you’ve done in your life has helped placed you in a spot that seems like serendipity, he told me in a recent interview.

As one of the brains behind Montana’s 3.8 teraflop supercomputer "the only technological wonder of its kind in this state" Philp said there are two main reasons why some people are successful in their life endeavors. Success comes to those who are willing to take the necessary risks to make their goal come to fruition, he said. And, borrowing from an old Einstein adage, Philp believes the harder you work, the luckier you are.
