University of Oregon names finalists for business plan contest

The Charles H. Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Oregon has chosen 20 semifinalists out of 160 entries to participate in a business competition called New Venture Championship set for April 9 to April 11 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Portland.

The annual contest, in its 18th year, awards $70,000 in cash prizes — including $25,000 for the winning team.

The semifinalists are Brigham Young University, Clemson University, Cornell University, Chulalongkorn University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Northwestern University, Penn State University, Purdue University, San Diego State University, Thammasat University, University of Arkansas, University of California Berkeley, University of Louisville, University of Manitoba, University of Michigan, University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Utah and University of Virginia.
