Montana Tech grad, Ashley Hunt does research at International Heart Institute in Missoula

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Montana Tech http://www.mtech.edu/biomedical engineering graduate Ashley Hunt has worked for the past year with the International Heart Institute http://www.ihimontana.org/ in Missoula on a research project using magnets to repair heart valves.

"Ashley is the fourth Tech graduate student to complete their thesis research in heart valves and repairs in collaboration with the institute," said Kumar Ganesan, Tech environmental engineering professor and department head.
